The Wytron MagicCD series are the latest range of standalone CD duplicators with exceptional reliability and support.
  • Easy to use - requires no training.
  • Stand-alone operation - does not require a PC or software.

There are currently two models available, a single target one-to-one CD duplicator (Model: CD-109) and a multi-target 1-to-7 IDE duplicator (Model: CD-298).


The CD298 controller can support a CD reader, up to seven CD writers and an (optional) hard disc.  Simply insert the master disc into the reader, blank media into the writers and simultaneous duplication starts without any further manual intervention.

The MagicCD CD-298 is compatible with a range of CD-R/RW writers up to 56x such as Plextor, Teac, Sanyo, Nichimen, Liteon etc. This model has huge 32 Mb of buffer memory which ensures consistent, error-free operation to a level which far exceeds models with only 8Mb of buffer memory.   The unit features a two-line 20 character LCD display unit and two push-buttons to control its operation.

Supported formats:  ISO9660, CD-DA (Music CD), CD-ROM/XA, Photo-CD, CD-I, CD-MPEG, VCD, Game, Single Session, Multi-Session (CD+G, CD-Plus..), CD-RW.

** Channel News **
Customers should note that the are two version of the CD-298 controller - the "CD-298" model and the "CD-298A" model.
The CD-298 model was discontinued at the latter end of 2002 and the CD-298A model was discontinued in early Sep 2003.
Users can check the type of model that they own by watching the boot-up sequence text carefully.  If the controller displays "CD-298" (rather than "CD-298A") then you have an older model of the controller and you should be aware of its limitations when used with modern high-speed writers (48x or above). 
Quite often such discontinued controllers are shipped with very old BIOS revisions, and this causes serious compatibility problems with modern writers.


** Latest Information **
The final revision for the Wytron CD-298 controllers is firmware version v2.85.
As this model is no longer in production, there will be no future firmware upgrades.

** Bios History **
v2.85 July 03 This version improves readability of various display text & some display functions. Final firmware revision.
v2.82   Added support for 40x CD writers (e.g. Plextor and Liteon), large hard disk support up to 160Gb with a maximum of 26x26 900Mb partitions (named from AA..ZZ). Also added "emulate and write" command which emulates write before copying.
Max. 56x writing support.  Solves detection problems with some large hard drives.
