5. Unsolicited Communications: Email, Fax, Telephone
Telephone
As of 25 June 2004, Regulations came into force to amend the existing Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003. These Regulations mean that it is unlawful for someone in business (including charities or other voluntary organisations) to make unsolicited sales and marketing calls to a telephone number allocated to a corporate subscriber if that corporate subscriber has either told that business or organisation that do not want to receive such calls or has registered the number with the Corporate Telephone Preference Service (&TPS&) that they do not wish to receive such calls from any business or organisation.
Starmount has registered all its incoming telephone sales lines with the Corporate TPS.
Fax
It is unlawful for someone in business (including charities or other voluntary organisations) to send such a fax to anybody, whether a consumer or business, if the recipient has registered with the Fax Preference Service (&FPS&).
Starmount has registered its fax number with the FPS.
Email
Unsolicited e-mail messages, including but not limited to, bulk commercial advertising and informational announcements, are explicitly prohibited.
